The Business/Civic Leadership Forum is a three-month business and civic leadership experience designed to help leaders better understand the Houston region, the people, issues, opportunities, and challenges shaping the community where they live and work.
Since 2000, the Center for Houston’s Future Business/Civic Leadership Forum has engaged more than 1,500 diverse leaders from across the Greater Houston region through an immersive three-month civic leadership program. Through expert speakers, facilitated discussions, and experiential Learning Journeys, participants explore the critical social, economic, and environmental challenges shaping the Greater Houston region. The results are life-changing community engagement and leadership cultivating deeper civic responsibility while working to build a more vibrant, resilient, and equitable Houston.
The Forum combines professionally facilitated sessions, conversations with community and industry leaders, group discussions, team building, and an in-depth look at issues important to Houston’s future. Participants also take part in Learning Journeys, working in small groups to explore civic issues of particular interest and sharing what they discover with the broader cohort.
For many participants, the experience extends well beyond the three-month program. Leadership Forum alumni have launched community initiatives, developed lasting professional relationships, and found new ways to become involved in the Houston region.
