Vision 2050
The Center, working with business, community, and government leaders, is creating a long-range strategic plan and vision for the Houston region.
Our long-range plan will look out 5 to 25 years and present an aspirational vision for a thriving region for all. We will highlight and synthesize some of the great work underway to get us there and, importantly, detail next-generation solutions for a series of critical areas we concluded demand priority attention.
The Process
Throughout the process, we have sought, collected, and integrated input from a variety of voices on what the aspirations and priorities for our region should be. Our Vision 2050 Steering Committee, which helped guide the process, is comprised of a diverse range of business, community, and government leaders.
Five Pillars
The Center has assembled teams to do deep dives in five specific areas. The teams will create visions and roadmaps focused on providing creative, next-generation solutions. The pillars are:
- Houston: The Livable Region
- Houston: The Destination
- Mobility: Meeting Dual Challenge
- Education: The Future
- Houston: The Center for Brain Health/the Brain Economy
Next Steps
Our teams will each create visionary plans. Those roadmaps will be combined with information on the visionary work underway on other pillars critical to our region’s future into one multimedia story. We will reveal this story of what our region can and should be at our signature Dinner & Conversation event in November.
